I need your blood to play
”Epic” is the new production by Mårten Spångberg featuring nine dancers and a large scale mise en scène, consisting of eight autonomous solos wrapped around an organic structure where the haute-weird shake it with squid like movements in an endless orgasm and darkness shines kaleidoscopic in psychedelic orchestration. It is an archaeology in search of its ur-trauma, the moment of necessity, of being true to the universe and of making a dance. ”Epic” is the gothic part of comedy scratching the crust of the earth lifting its head to the sky like only a singer song-writer can do, the darkest horror of cosmic death-drive and the paralyzing fear of circular double speech. It’s a cheese maker on a fading horizon or it’s epic, all of it and everything else too.
For ”Epic” Mårten Spångberg has in collaboration with eight performers created equally many autonomous full-length choreographic solos. The solos each unfold a strategy, model or structural capacity previously experimented with by Spångberg. In ”Epic” the solos are twined into an unruly organism who salutes it’s audience by blinding them, hypnotizing them and making them beg for more.

Epic-crew and parts of Lune are hanging out at PAF- the best place on earth for the moment. Sharp brains and big hearts. Next thing- back to Stockholm, show Epic at MDT-the place to be (17-21 of april). Yes… true thing, two Lune songs are hanging above your head- ready to go! Old and New, painkillers, love letters and two damn hugs.
Yesterday we all hung out, sharing an unforgettable moment. Lune, Psychic Warfare (http://psychicwarfare.se/), Lägereldstrion (Marcus Doverud, Mårten Spångberg & Linnéa Martinsson) were organizing The World Over here. This time we all met at Lejonkulan / Dramaten in Stockholm. We were the fireplace and together with old and new friends we built a camp like no other. Blue blankets-shining-eyes-green-lights-buildings-broken sounds-people- we fell in love. Memories below captured by Joanna Nordahl.
From now on. See you soon in another way.
